Emel + Mike's Romantic Toronto Wedding

An interview with bride #70

Check out this gorgeous, romantic Toronto wedding featuring #TheJustMarriedJacket.

Our wedding day fit us perfectly. It was full of romance, passion and love. We had all of our friends and family present and the day was exactly as we pictured it down to the very last detail. The day couldn't have been more perfect.

What was one thing your wedding day HAD to have?
Every little detail was really important to us, and one thing that we made sure to have was a specific song for our first dance. Mike, my husband, is Ecuadorian and we love to dance together. So we made sure to use the song that we danced to together for the very first time which has a Bachata rhythm to it. We HAD to have that!

We also wanted to write our own vows to make them that much more special. It was incredibly important to us both to write our own vows because we're both such affectionate people and we express our love to one another often, so it just made sense for us.

Tell us about something you could have done without or wasn’t necessary in the end.
To be honest I loved all of our details. If I really had to pick, I guess we didn't need the size of cake we had. However I still loved every detail of the day and wouldn't change a thing.

Tell us about your bridal style.
Our wedding featured a ton of greens and neutrals. I wanted to keep a simple palette for the day. My bridesmaids wore a beautiful mauve coloured dress to match with the earthy tones throughout the rest of the details. I kept my bridal fashion sexy and elegant and incorporated #TheJustMarriedJacket into my look to bring a bit of edge.

What's your advice for future brides?
Enjoy the planning process, but understand that there are going to be bumps along the way which is totally normal. On the day of, you cannot control everything that happens no matter how hard you try. There may be tiny little hiccups here and there, but it's what makes your wedding day real and unique to YOU.

It was the little things that happened that gave our wedding character. From the best man forgetting the rings in the bridal suite, to the weather being so incredibly hot that the limo temporarily broke down. These things will happen, and I just laughed them off.

I had THE BEST DAY. Truly. And it was all about my attitude going into the day. I planned and planned and planned, and after all of that hard work, I better enjoy the damn day. Right?
