Rebecca + Midian's Glamorous Winter Wedding
An interview with bride #48
Our ceremony was one of our favourite parts of the day. We worked closely with our Officiant to write a ceremony that was deeply personal and also embodied us and our values. We started with land acknowledgement and a statement in support of marriage equality. We wrote our vows together, so reciting them on our wedding day in front of our close family and friends felt truly magical.
Our other favourite part had to be our first dance. Midian wrote the song (music and lyrics) for our first dance and had it professionally recorded in a studio. We took dance lessons so that our routine would do the song justice. Performing was fun and exhilarating!
Describe your wedding day in 3 words.
Romantic, intimate, and glamorous.
What's one thing that your wedding day HAD TO have.
Snow! I had always dreamed of a winter wedding and got so lucky when we got a huge snow storm a few days before the big day.
What's one thing you could've done without or proved to be unnecessary in the end?
I'm happy with everything! If anything I could have taken things even further with more decor and florals.
Tell us about your bridal fashion style.
Glamorous and classic.
What's your advice for future brides?
Listen to yourself and your partner to ensure you get the wedding you want and don't let other people's opinions or tastes take over.
