Meghan + Alex's Low-Key Spring Wedding Inside Archeo
An interview with bride #97
We were married on April 13, 2019, and Toronto blessed us with a rare, beautiful, warm April day! I was on the phone with the venue, Archeo, in the morning making plans to move the ceremony to their outside patio. I'm so glad I did! This was unexpected but was a nice surprise for both us and our guests!
We also had Alex's sister and my mom come up to speak during the ceremony and their words of love for us were so special and filled the whole ceremony with so much love.
Describe your wedding day in 3 words.
Relaxed, emotional, merriment.
What's one thing that your wedding day HAD TO have.
The most important thing to me was time. Time for the two of us to spend together and with our guests. This is why we did a First Look so we could enjoy the afternoon together, wandering around Distillery, and also get to enjoy the food with our guests during cocktail hour!
What's one thing you could've done without or proved to be unnecessary in the end?
I am not by nature a planner, so I cut out a lot of traditional wedding items during the planning process. We did not have programs, favours, limos, a videographer, or even a cake! I don't regret not having those things one bit!
Tell us about your bridal fashion style and how you decided on the details of your look.
I just wanted to be comfortable! Believe it or not, my dress was super stretchy and was comfortable to dance in!
What's your advice for future brides?
Delegate during the planning process where possible! And if you are able, having a day-of point person was a lifesaver for me. I had Faye from Events Your Way as my day-of coordinator and she made sure the day ran smoothly so I could just relax. It took so much stress off of me!
