Veronica and Mateo's Vintage Themed Wedding

FUN, SIMPLE, INTIMATE

An interview with Bride #35.

It was a small wedding of 60 guests of very few family and very close friends. It began on Sunday starting at 3pm until 10pm. There were no bridesmaids/groomsmen involved as we didn't want to lose focus from ourselves (bride/groom). If we had a theme, it would be a bit of rustic and vintage. We chose to use light pink, ivory, green and peach for our decor colors. About 80% of guests were Hispanic, so we added some aspects of our culture through music and food. Our reception was located in the same room as the ceremony, the banquet helped to rearrange the room when transitioning. During cocktail hour, we went to a nearby greenhouse to take photos with a greenery setting. Throughout the wedding the crowd was very engaged in our event during games and dancing. I found that it was a very comfortable atmosphere for all our guests as almost everyone was familiar with one another. The crowd loved that we had incorporated a pinata and they also enjoyed the sparkler send off. Overall there were a few hiccups with delays but we quickly got over it and moved on. The day was amazing!

One detail our wedding had to have was the arbor my father made. To have something as meaningful as my dad put together the wedding arbor I will be getting married next to was very special to me. He had made the arbor the way I envisioned it and did not stop until it looked like a dream.

My dress was a ball gown of 8 layers, because I've always envisioned myself in something princess-y. I love vintage so I was able to incorporate it with my 3/4 lace sleeves as well as a lace headpiece I put together. I wore a long cathedral veil with lace ends. I guess you could say that my bridal style was more on the traditional side.
With the just married jacket, it helped me transition my style from traditional bride to a more loosened up bride once the party music came on.

You don't need a huge 200 guest list wedding to have a good time or to make it memorable. As long as there's good food, good music, and close friends/family, you can't lose.

Also if you keep comparing your wedding or wedding dress with others, you'll never be happy with what you have. Not everything needs to look like it's straight from Pinterest!
