Megan and Adam's Warm October Wedding

FUN, WARM, PERSONAL

An interview with Bride #38

We got married on an abnormally warm October day. The rain held off just long enough for us to finish photos! I designed everything for the wedding myself and Alysse from the Event Design Co. executed my vision perfectly! We really focused on a lot of small, personal touches.

We were married at the Jam Factory at sunset which the clouds made impossible to see but enhanced the ambiance using a ton of candles. We made the copper arch ourselves and my very pregnant Maid of Honour tirelessly made every paper flower strung on the backdrop for our ceremony. Besides a flower girl who refused to throw her petals, the ceremony was perfect! Wayde is amazing at what he does and really took the time getting to know us and curated a perfect narrative based on that.

While we quickly got some jacket shots in the rain outside, cocktail hour began downstairs in the awesome Merchants of Green Coffee space. Our guests could not get enough of the leather jacket during cocktail hour and I wore it as long as possible despite the heat! Back upstairs we filled our bellies with delicious barbeque and danced the night away only stopping to devour our amazing dessert table. It truly was the perfect day!

My dad is a hobby woodworker and made all of our wooden pinecone favours, card box, table numbers and cake topper. If these weren't special enough, he made sure they were appreciated by losing half a finger and almost two more in a tablesaw accident while working on the card box! (You'll see the evidence in photos - no blood, I promise. They're actually very cute!)

I also utilized my own skills and side biz to make custom cookies for the wedding. For each place setting, I made a marble hexagon cookie with each guests name imprinted and on top of that, I had a cookie cutter contact of mine create our faces in a cutter and made ourselves in cookie form for the dessert table!

What's one detail your wedding had to have?
Personalized cookies and chic typography!

What's something you could have done without?
Probably our late night snack - we had popcorn and cotton candy which were incredible but not many people partook since they were full from dinner and dessert.

Tell us about your bridal style:
